Meets: Monthly on Mondays 9:45 am 3rd Monday in the month
Where: Gateway to Cornerstone Methodist Church, Davyhulme
Walks vary between three and six miles, meeting outside Cornerstone Church on Hayeswater Road at 9.45am and leaving at 10am. The group tries to arrange lifts for everyone who wants one, and the coordinator phones round the previous Friday or Saturday to confirm numbers. The format is to drive to a pub or cafe, order lunch in advance, leave the cars there and do a circular walk back to the start, aiming to be back for lunch about 1.30pm, then drive back to the church. Recent walks have gone around Over Peover, Rixton Claypit, Wilmslow, Chorlton Water Park, Worsley Woods and Quarry Bank Mill. Branch members only.
- Newcomers The group is looking for a few people to suggest and lead a walk, so do get in touch with the coordinator if you can offer
- What to bring Wet weather clothing and walking boots, which are essential, a walking pole or poles, which are useful, and your mobile phone for emergencies
- Who it is for Walkers comfortable with three to six miles
- Cost, as stated 25 Aug 2026 £3 to the driver if you get a lift, towards petrol and maintenance, plus your lunch at the pub
