Pétanque is the best known of the French boules games, played by pitching hollow metal balls over a gravel terrain to rest as close as possible to a small wooden jack. The basic game is easy to pick up and mixes skill with a good deal of chance. The group plays at Wells Football Club every Monday from 2pm until about 4pm, all year round when the weather allows, but never on a Bank Holiday.
- What to bring Spare boules can be borrowed for anyone without their own. Toilets, shelter and ample parking are available.
- Cost, as stated 25 Aug 2026 £2 per session
