u3a Luton is an independent charity and part of the national organisation the Third Age Trust. It is open to anyone no longer in full time employment, and there is no age restriction and no qualification needed. Members form interest groups covering a wide range of topics, run by the members for the members, with no distinction between learners and teachers. The branch is self funded through membership subscriptions, and its ethos is that every member takes some part, however small, in the volunteering that makes it work.
