Exe Valley u3a runs 26 groups around Exe Valley.

Exe Valley u3a runs 20 to 30 semi-autonomous interest groups for people in the Tiverton and Mid Devon area who have stopped full time work, covering subjects from boules and bridge to local history and lunching. Each group decides when, where and how often to meet, and members can attend as few or as many as they wish. Groups range in size from ten members up to forty or fifty, and most meet monthly, though some meet twice a month or more. There is also a members' monthly meeting on the third Wednesday of every month at the Cherith Hall, Blundells Road, Tiverton, usually with a guest speaker followed by a cup of tea and a chat; doors open at 1.30pm and the meeting runs from 2pm until 4pm.

Your local paper

Hearabouts

Stay connected with Exe Valley

A local paper for your patch, delivered by email. Who's just started up, what's in season, when the markets are on, what's on this month, and the odd story about how a place like yours keeps its money close to home.

Good news, mostly. There's enough of the other kind about.

Just the district, TQ9, never your full address.

Your postcode does one more thing. It's a show of hands for your own patch. Every signup tells the bakers, growers and makers nearby that their neighbours are behind them, and that count is what convinces the next one to put themselves on the map. More of us backing local means more to buy, closer to home.

We haven't sent the first one yet. Sign up now and you'll be there for it.
