Canvey Island u3a formed in April 2011 and is aimed at retired and semi retired people. It is a registered charity whose adage is learn, laugh, live. Its purpose is the advancement of education, particularly the education of the retired and semi retired, through activities conducive to learning and personal development. The aim is to form self motivated groups in which members learn from each other's expertise and experience, and the branch runs groups covering many subjects, with scope for more.
