The teacher using a village hall, the instructor building a small school, the maker opening their workshop and the sole trader teaching from home can all be easy to miss beside national brands, large institutions and platforms with much bigger reach.

Together they are part of what makes Glasgow somewhere people can participate in rather than simply live beside.

Finding them, using them and telling other people about them helps keep that independent local life viable.

A local dance school can start with one teacher and become somewhere generations of people learn, make friends and perform. Those businesses become part of a town long before anybody thinks to call them infrastructure.
